Prospective owners in the Epaulette Colt Syndicate enjoyed a stable visit to see this un-named colt in his pre-training (where horses learn the basics of riding and racing.)
Physically he is shaping up into a big strong horse, and has a powerful rear end just like half brother Good Luck Charm. He has one of the nicest temperaments and looked ever the professional as he undertook his daily exercise.
During our visit the colt warmed up on the all weather gallop before steadily cantering over 12 furlongs amongst a small string. He moved well, was focused on the job in hand and certainly looked the part. Watch his most recent progress below:
Dave Phelan (who is breaking in the horse) couldn’t be happier with him and says “from day one he has been very straightforward and I like him a lot. He canters confidently, and has taken the increase in his work very well. The next stage of his learning will be to enjoy some canters up the grass, and I’m confident he will take this very much in his stride too.”
Trainer Gary Moore is excited to train this colt for the forthcoming season. He is pleased with how the colt has developed for a break over the winter and would like him to resume ridden work at his pre-training yard for a month in preparation for full training on 1st March.
