New ownership for King Of Ithaca

Heart of the South Racing always strives to provide a thrilling, fun and social ownership experience! Over the years some of our syndicate Owners have enjoyed their ownership journey so much that they want more, and consequently go on to own horses outright. These include former HOTSR owners of Grade 2 winners Ubak & Salver, Grade 1 NH winner Le Patron, Apprentice Derby winner Guns Of Leros and 111-rated multiple winner Dark Emerald to name a few.

We are delighted that the similar venture is happening again, this time with one of our ex-horses! From 1st May, HOTSR owner Julia Gibson officially owns 5-time winner King Of Ithaca who will race under new ownership with Julia and friends. As King of Ithaca is 10lbs better on an AW surface unfortunately not enough syndicate Owners wished to renew the agreement for another season this April, but Julia has always shown great commitment and devotion to the horse and we are delighted for all involved with the end result.

Not only will the horse continue to enjoy his racing career for another season or two, but like HOTSR Julia is a big believer in the horse’s welfare being at the forefront which means she will be heavily involved in King Of Ithaca’s retirement plans once that time beckons.

This really is the best outcome for this horse who will continue to receive the very best care under his new ownership and we wish them all enormous luck in this exciting new chapter. We will continue to follow his career fondly and cherish the memories.
