We are devastated to have lost our lovely Spirit D’Aunou over Easter at Plumpton and saddened that things ended the way they did for such a special horse who meant an awful lot to his Owners, groom Lisa, the Gary Moore team and ourselves.
Spirit was a joy to own and to manage. On the racecourse he was fearless, genuine & always gave his all but at home he was the most kindest of horses who loved a fuss (especially when he knew you had carrots!) & he really did enjoy his life at Cisswood Stables.
Spirit also loved racing & won 5 times throughout his career with his win at Sandown Park on Tingle Creek Day being a standout moment! He took us to Aintree in 2024 & ran a massive race we will forever remember at this years Cheltenham Festival to finish 5th! He really did have the heart of a lion & you couldn’t help but fall in love with him.
Horses like Spirit don’t come around often and he really was one of a kind. We will always look back fondly on the memories he has left behind and be thankful we got to meet him. Fly high Spirit, we miss you x
