Heart of the South Racing are delighted to announce a new development which involves the Paddock To Post & The Plumpton Party Syndicates!
With trainer Suzy Smith sadly easing training in May 2026, she approached HOTSR to ask us to manage these two syndicates for their existing Owners.
The Plumpton Party own 7-time winner & legend Tapley who will enjoy one final run with Suzy before enjoying a holiday and moving to Gary & Josh Moore’s yard for the 2026/27 season. Tapley will continue to run in the syndicates colours and name and we very much look forward to managing this syndicate and enjoying what has already been a really fun ride for Owners of this horse.
The Paddock To Post syndicate is something a little different which involves TWO unraced NH horses beautifully bred by Suzy herself. It was set up by Suzy and existing Owners have been involved with these horses from the start (the paddock) and will do so until they race (to the post) – which is why we have decided to keep the syndicates name! The two horses are – a 3yo gelding by popular NH sire Jack Hobbs, and out of 2-time NH winning Dam Strike The Flint who is the daughter of the brilliant 5-time winner Material World. The 3yo filly is by 2-time Group winning sire Masterstroke and out of 7-time NH winner (and 4th in the Topham Chase!) Aimigayle! They both have NH blood streaming through their veins and look really exciting prospects. Harry Derham will train this duo and really looks forward to having them in his yard. They will move on 1st May to commence their pre-training and gradually start to prepare to make their racecourse debuts this winter.
