2nd October 2015, Jockey Martin Harley
Massive congratulations to all owners in this partnership on Sir Robert Cheval’s second career win – and what a place to have a winner!
Over the last two seasons Sir Robert Cheval has proved to be one of our most consistent and genuine horses but his high handicap mark has made things difficult for him to get his nose in front. However after the handicapper finally giving the horse a chance off a rating of 90, a drop in grade saw Sir Robert Cheval get his second career win!
We were a little concerned about the 1 mile trip. Trainer Marco Botti felt 7 furlongs was the horse’s ideal trip and even jockey Martin Harley felt the trip would push Sir Robert Cheval to the maximum capacity. However Sir Robert Cheval surprised us all and stayed on well up the hill!
It all played right into Sir Robert Cheval’s hands today. He had his perfect ground, there was a fast early pace and he was given a peach of a ride by jockey Martin Harley. Martin sat patiently as the field went off a blistering pace and they were soon coming back to the pair in the last furlong. The horse finished strongly and we were delighted to see him win again!
Congratulations to all owners once again! Sir Robert Cheval was a deserving winner and fingers crossed there are more wins to come!
