27th December 2011, Jockey Jamie Moore
Fruity O’Rooney wins again! This time he nets a prize of over £12,000 and delights his many followers. He returned at 12-1 so it’s no wonder they were all smiling!
Once again Fruity did it the only way he knows how, leading for the entire three miles and seeing off one challenger after another. His task was made easier by two challengers falling at the last two fences but while our horse once again jumped to the left at most fences, he never looked like falling and he came home to win just over three lengths.
Fruity O’Rooney’s willing attitude inspires great loyalty among his twenty owners, and nineteen of them were there to cheer him home at Kempton. Gary Moore’s post race interview gave much deserved credit for the win to Fruity O’Rooney’s biggest fan, former jockey Philip Hide, who bought the horse for us and who rides him every day.
