Massive congratulations to Owners The Plumpton Party as TAPLEY makes it a winning debut for his new yard, and secures his 8th career win!
Since the sad retirement of trainer Suzy Smith last season, HOTSR were approached to manage the lovely TAPLEY for his Owners and we jumped at the chance! TAPLEY enjoyed a break over the summer before moving to his new yard with Gary and Josh Moore where he settled into his new environment very well and was making encouraging progress on the gallops at home. The team felt that whatever he did at Fontwell he would come on for and indeed TAPLEY had quite a belly on him in the parade ring in comparison to his rivals. However with the sunshine on his back, ease in the ground, loving the track, jumping exceptionally and showing such heart and determination TAPLEY went onto win his race comfortably!
Caoilin Quinn gave the horse a brilliant front running ride and was delighted with the horse’s jumping, natural ability and want to win! Trainers Gary & Josh feel that if TAPLEY can improve again next time then we could look to target a juicy Saturday target this season!
TAPLEY has come out of his race well, trotted up sound and eaten up every last oat. He will be back racing in around 3 weeks time and we are already looking forward to his next start.
