We strongly believe because our formula to racehorse ownership is the right one.
Indeed so do our owners—and many of them have been with Heart of the South have been with us for years and years.
Good or bad, owners are always kept in the picture and made to feel like they own the horse outright, and this is what is so greatly appreciated by all.
Read just a selection of some lovely comments from our owners!
Just a quick note to say thanks for the fantastic day at Sandown. Clearly a lot of hard work goes into making something like that go so smoothly so well done to all of you at Heart of the South. We both had a really great day there and even the weather relented for us to enjoy the day.
Ian Sadler – Owner in Waikiki Waves
I just wanted to send a quick message to say thanks for organising Saturday’s fantastic stable visit, it was great to see Raven’s Lady stretching her legs a bit more. I think whatever she does on the track, it has been a pleasure to be involved with her and Heart of the South. And of course with Marco and his team.
Greg Saveall – Raven’s Lady
We have just watched the absolutely wonderful DVD of Fruity O’Rooney and his fantastic racing career. Thank you so much for compiling it and sending a copy to each of us. I could not help but have tears in eyes to remember the wonderful performances of a great little horse.
All my life I wanted to have a 3 mile chaser, Even when I bounced around on small ponies as a child pretending I was winning the Grand National. To have shared with you all, the racing life of Fruity has been such a privilege.
I particularly wanted you to know that Heart of the South’s management of the partnership was totally outstanding and a huge credit to you and thanks for all the very hard work you put in to help us enjoy such a great racehorse.
Ann Tyrell – former owner of Fruity O’Rooney, now Waikiki Waves
We have been owners with Heart of the South for a very long time and have enjoyed every minute so far. Our latest horse – Zambeasy – has given us some fantastic times and his wins at Sandown Park (where we are annual members and have lots of friends) have been especially thrilling. Trainer Philip Hide has been so enthusiastic and welcoming and we love how you can see how much the horse means to him. The attention to detail from Heart of the South is, as always, brilliant. We almost feel part of the family!
Paul & Tracy Fleming – owners in many horses over the years
We have been with Heart Of The South for over 2 years now and have loved every minute of it. Firstly Eloise and Sam are always there to discuss your horse with you and always make you very welcome when visiting the stables. You really feel that the horse is yours!
The social side is fantastic especially on race days, and even better when getting in the winners enclosure. We currently have 2 horses and now looking at a 3rd one, we feel that confident on their honest and upfront approach to running syndicates.
Neil Trigwell – owner in Zante
From the minute I made my first phone call I have never looked back. Joining Heart of the South has been the best phone call I have ever made.
All the requirements that I desired are met by this syndicate. As I don’t drive I really appreciate that they try and race the horses at local tracks and even when they aren’t I am given enough notice to book into a B&B.
It is important to me that as an owner I can gain access to the paddock at every race and I can visit the training stables whenever I wish. The team behind Heart of the South are always welcoming and it’s a pleasure to be with as part of a “family.” I always have a fantastic day out when at the races with either of my horses win or lose. Experiencing my first win was the best day of my life. Thank you Heart of the South!

My association with HOTSR goes back to at least 2009 with a share in Fruity O’Rooney and at various times over the following years with interests in Amen, Oh So Fruity, Capsis Desbois and Finally Waikiki Waves, where the time has gone I do not know but what I do know is that I have had a fun 9 years or so with some incredible highs and also some lows when horses have either been injured or had to be retired early. But best of all for me is the respect that HOTSR shows to its horses when there racing careers come to an end and the lengths that you go to to find suitable homes for them all, look at Fruity who continues to shine in ROR competitions.
John Bellamy – owner in many horses over the years.
HOTSR really care about all aspects of owning horses in a syndicate and keep everyone informed on a regular basis. Your updates during such a difficult year have bought a lot of pleasure to owners
Dave Clewley – owner in Cilaos Glace & Quloob
I joined HOTSR 12 years ago and have met so many new people! I have learnt a lot and the benefits of being an owner at the meetings is so enjoyable. HOTSR look after us and the horses so well and are a joy to be a part of.
Carol Brinson – owner in Riohacha & Waikiki Waves
HOTSR are a brilliant way to enjoy racing at an affordable price. Fun, friendly team – just sit and enjoy your race!
