On Sunday 6th November 142 of our Owners joined us for an afternoon at Sandown Park as part of our exclusive Owner Event.
We enjoyed a delicious carvery meal before distributing our winning mementos won by our horses over the last 12 months. Legal Rights’ Owners were out in force on Sunday and there were plenty of prizes to give away from him after a fabulous season consisting of 3 wins.
We also did our popular tipping competition which was won by John Edwards (of the Legal Rights syndicate) and a raffle to raise money for the Injured Jockeys Fund. A big thank you to everyone who donated prizes and bought raffle tickets. We raised a huge £1300!
HOTSR also had two runners – Legal Rights ran a creditable race stepped up in class in the first and it was good to see Isayalittleprayer back racing who has come out of her race well after getting a little tired in the ground.
It was a real shame that racing was abandoned after the 3rd race due to the weather but it didn’t seem to take away from the event and we’ve had so many wonderful messages since!
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to our upcoming events in 2023.
Thanks for a lovely day at Sandown, it was really enjoyable seeing yourselves and everyone else there. These things, I know, take a lot of organising, so the hard work put in by everybody is very much appreciated. To top it off by winning a raffle prize was great, and of the three races I actually backed two winners! From my tipping competition efforts you will know that is a rarity!
Barry GogginI would like to offer a massive thank you for organising the event on Sunday which not even the foulest of weather could diminish. The event was a resounding success in which a colossal amount of money was raised for the IJF and you should be truly proud of your efforts.
Ian SadlerJust wanted to say thank you for all your efforts organising today’s event at Sandown. Such a shame the meeting was abandoned, but we had a really nice time, lunch was lovely. My friends who are new to racing were very impressed & I’m hoping maybe to get them interested in sharing in a horse!
Mary FieldWendy and I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful day. I’m sure you would have preferred racing to have taken its course however, I don’t think it detracted from the day.
John EdwardsThank you all so much for another great day out with HOTSR. Such hard work for you all, but very much appreciated. Hope you all got home safely in the deteriorating weather. Loving my Ruby vase.
Wendy FormstoneQuick note to say thank you for organising such a great day yesterday. Best compliment I can pay is that it hardly seemed to matter that there were only three races – so well done & thank you!
Thought that was a really encouraging run by Legal Rights. Once again he showed that he stays all day & the deeper the ground the better.

Thank you very much HOTSR for another lovely Owner’s Event. You all work extremely hard to make these Events so enjoyable for us Owners. It was a great shame the racing was abandoned halfway through, but that’s the English weather for you.
