Congratulations to Owners of Bridge as he wins for the first time over hurdles at Fontwell Park on Boxing Day completing the first leg of a double for HOTSR – what a lovely Christmas treat!
Going into the race we were a little concerned about the ground, especially with Bridge racing so keenly during the first part of the race! However, with a circuit to go Caoilin allowed the horse to stride on and he looked to be travelling quite comfortably. Turning into the back straight Bridge was the only horse still on the bridle and he just kept lengthening away from the rest of the field as he went onto score his first victory comfortably over hurdles – well done Bridge!
Caoilin and Gary were both delighted with the little horse and said “he did everything wrong with being so keen in ground we didn’t feel would suit him but fair play to the little horse, he’s done it well and he’s still only 3 years old – he is certain to improve!”
Bridge has come out of his race well and will be given a quieter week before racing again in the New Year.
