15th October 2024 – Jockey Paul O’Brien
Our first National Hunt runner of the season and it was a winner courtesy of the improving Court In The Act!
This youngster had a brilliant season last year and evidently had summered well maturing both mentally and physically. Trainer Harry Derham was keen to start his season off in a race that would give Court In The Act a nice reintroduction to racing and he looked a picture in the parade ring! Jockey Paul O’Brien knows this horse extremely well and as they set a nice gallop out in front you could see just how much the horse’s jumping had improved. As they turned into the home straight for the final time Paul started to turn the screw and Court In The Act responded brilliantly with two sharp jumps over the last two flights and pulling clear to win a shade comfortably – well done team!
The best thing about Court In The Act is he is by no means the finished article yet and the future certainly looks very bright for him. We cannot wait to hear about his future targets.
A huge thank you to the Harry Derham team, especially Joe who led him up and Paige who rides him every day. A thank you to Oliver Sherwood too who purchased this horse for us.
