23rd May 2017, Jockey Fran Berry
Dragons Voice proved what a professional he is by digging deep and winning on his handicap & turf debut at Nottingham – congratulations to his connections!
The horse was given the perfect ride from Fran Berry who rode a very patient yet confident race. After breaking very well from the stalls and finding himself leading, Dragons Voice was quite keen for the first furlong so Fran decided to take a pull and tuck him in behind the leading duo where he settled beautifully. Young Dragons Voice traveled strongly throughout his race and when pulled wide and asked the question he certainly didn’t disappoint as he battled gamely against Al Nafoorah, getting the better of his rival and crossing the line 3/4 of a length in front!
We have to give a huge congratulations to trainer Philip Hide and his team. Philip has always maintained this horse has ability and said “I’m delighted to see that owners patience has been rewarded. We always knew Dragons Voice was more a long term horse but he’s thrived in the softer conditions and is sure to provide us with some more fun!”
There looks to be more improvement to come from Dragons Voice, and we are really looking forward to the season ahead with him!
A huge thank you to Mick Atkins for the fabulous first 3 photographs – he really does capture some brilliant shots! To order any copies of Mick’s photos then please email him.
Great result for DV who was determined not give up Well done to Philip and all at the yard
Thanks so much David! A great win for you and the other owners. More to come we’re sure.
Best wishes,
Eloise
