1st September 2018, Jockey Fran Berry
Dragons Voice got September underway in the best way possible as he made it a winning debut for his new yard at Sandown Park!
Following the sad retirement of Philip Hide, Dragons Voice moved to David Menuisier’s yard in Pulborough, West Sussex. He had been patiently waiting for some rain to fall and with Sandown being one of ours and David’s favorite tracks we were pleased that the ground looked to just about be in his favor as he gave a thrilling race and cemented his new relationship with David with a win!
Under another great ride from Fran Berry the horse traveled well, was pushed through his flat spot and battled on gamely up the stiff hill. Fran said “he was a little unbalanced at times but I put this down to the ground, he would not want it any quicker than that. He showed a good attitude and tried hard in the finish. I am pleased for everyone involved.”
David was equally delighted and believes there could be more to come from the progressive Dragons Voice, especially with softer conditions under his hooves. His next target will be the Cambridgeshire Handicap race at Newmarket on 28th/29th September (likely to be the Silver race.)
A massive congratulations once again to connections and the Menuisier team. Also a thank you to Philip Hide and his team for all the work they have done previously to enable us to get this far with Dragons Voice!
