Congratulations to connections of Spirit D’Aunou as he wins his 5th career race at Sandown Park’s Tingle Creek meeting!
The 4yo went into the race in great form and looked a picture in the parade ring. He was given a beautifully timed ride by Niall Houlihan who got the horse to settle well early on and he jumped and travelled strongly. As they started to make the turn for home Spirit was stalking the leaders and when Niall pressed the go button he really did accelerate away smartly. He was clear coming down to the last and went onto win this Class 2 contest a tad cosily. Clearly Spirit just loves that Sandown hill!
Niall was delighted with the horse as was trainer Gary Moore who feels heavy ground is certainly his forte over this trip.
Spirit D’Aunou has come out of the win extremely well and a huge thanks must go to Gary, Niall, regular work rider Anna and groom Lisa who do a fantastic job with this horse! Where we go next with him is an exciting thought and Gary, Josh and Jamie are already lining up some juicy targets.
Finally, we just wanted to thank everyone for their wonderful congratulatory messages! To have a winner on Tingle Creek day at one of our favourite tracks are what dreams are made of and we couldn’t be happier for Spirit’s Owners, Gary’s team and of course the horse whose such a superstar!
