28th August 2020, Jockey Josh Moore
It was fantastic to be back jump racing at Fontwell Park in August and even more so to watch our lovely Quloob score his first victory over hurdles on just the 3rd time of asking. Congratulations to his connections!
Under a brilliant ride from Josh Moore Quloob travelled strongly throughout, jumping the majority of his hurdles neatly and really holding his position when things got a little messy on the turn for home. He gave a huge leap over the 2nd last hurdle and soon pulled clear to win by a cosy 5 lengths!
Josh said “Quloob has really enjoyed himself today and jumped well, really coming up into my hands at a few of them. He loved the ground and will come on for the experience. I think there is more to come from him in this sphere.”
Since arriving with HOTSR last year Quloob finished in the frame on all of his starts in 2019, raced at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood, and finished 2nd last time out on the flat at Newmarket so he more than deserved to get his head in front and we were thrilled to see him do so over hurdles.
A huge thank you must go to his lass Suzy who looks after him and rides him almost every day. She shows so much love, dedication and care towards Quloob and they have such a lovely relationship so we are equally as delighted for her. Also thanks to his trainer Gary Moore who had an incredible day at Fontwell Park with a treble!
We are excited for Quloob’s next start – it could be over hurdles or on the flat!
