A return to Brighton Racecourse on Friday 10th August saw Good Luck Charm win his 6th race at this track – his 8th of his career thus far! He won this exact race 12 months ago and it was a thrill to see him relish in the softer ground, battling it out well with fellow course specialist Black Caesar.
The horse broke fantastically from the stalls, took a keen hold, and traveled powerfully down the Brighton hill. He really enjoyed an eye-balling battle with Black Caesar and whether it was the wind in his tail we don’t know – but this old boy was so determined to win!
Hector Crouch rode another great race, and said “everything fell right for the horse today and he really enjoyed the softer ground. It is great to see the horse still enjoying his racing and winning at the age of 9!”
Good Luck Charm returned to the winners enclosure to an encore of cheers from his owners who have enjoyed such a brilliant ownership experience with this horse. Full credit to Gary Moore and his team for keeping an older horse so sweet and still enjoying his job. Let’s hope the same can be said for his 2-year old half brother who will race this Autumn.
We look forward to Good Luck Charm’s next start!
