26th April 2016 Jockey Hector Crouch
There were huge celebrations at Brighton as this popular horse wins again – his fifth win of his career!
Good Luck Charm raced at Brighton 7 days prior to his win where he finished a creditable third in a competitive Class 4 handicap. After seeing how well the horse had been since, trainer Gary Moore made the call for Good Luck Charm to return to Brighton where he felt “he was almost a certainty.” Gary’s decision was spot on as it all came together for the horse under a superb ride from Hector Crouch.
The fast early pace suited Good Luck Charm perfectly and he was storming down the Brighton hill. Hector gave the horse plenty of cover before the ideal gap became available with a furlong to go. Good Luck Charm pushed his way through, battled hard to keep his nose in front and came home to a chorus of cheers from his owners! After the race Hector said “he was full of running today and came home very comfortably!”
Gary was also delighted with Good Luck Charm saying “he loves Brighton, it’s his 3rd win at this track and he’s won off his highest mark today. It’s encouraging to see this 7-year old still as enthusiastic as ever and I’m sure we are in for some more fun with him this season!” The horse has been relatively busy throughout April (3 runs in 3 weeks!) so he will have a good break before racing again.
Good Luck Charm has come out of his race in excellent form and has been pretty full of himself post race (someone knows he’s a winner!) Congratulations to you all once again, we look forward to the season ahead with this loveable horse!
