15th November 2012, Jockey George Baker
We enjoyed an absolutely fantastic evening at Kempton Park when Good Luck Charm achieved his first win that he had been so deserving all season.
2012 has been a season full of excitement with this horse who in total finished third twice and second four times so as you can imagine there were huge celebrations when he got his nose in front.
After finishing a close third previously to this race, trainer Gary Moore felt Good Luck Charm was in excellent form at home and saw it a sensible idea to give the horse another run in the hope we could see him win before the year was out – and how spot on Gary was!
A drop back in trip to seven furlongs saw Good Luck Charm relish with the faster speed and after tracking his way through the field, he made his move up the inside rail where he cruising. Jockey George Baker rode a sensible race on this horse (who doesn’t like getting to the front too soon) and timed it perfectly so once in front Good Luck Charm had enough speed to keep going for his win.
Massive congratulations to all connections and a huge pat for Good Luck Charm, a deserving winner!
