11th September 2017, Jockey Hector Crouch
Good Luck Charm is fast becoming a Brighton specialist as he scored his 5th win at this track on Monday, his 7th win of his career so far. He only ever usually wins one race a season, but he is clearly feeling well recently as this was his second win in 31 days – congratulations to his owners!
Going into the race we had slight reservations concerning the race coming around quite quickly and the softer ground conditions, however trainer Gary Moore was adamant this horse should run and what an excellent call it was from him. We would like to say a huge thank you and congratulations to Gary for getting it spot on with Good Luck Charm once again!
As the race got underway Good Luck Charm broke extremely well from the stalls and overcame his wide draw brilliantly by going forward and slotting into a handy position. He traveled powerfully throughout and after hitting the front at the 2 furlong pole, he just kept giving more for jockey Hector Crouch and went onto win by a cosy length
Both Gary and Hector were delighted with the horse and Gary said “I thought as he gets older that a bit of cut in the ground would suit him, and I’m pleased his proved me right when winning on the good-to-soft ground today. He loves Brighton and it is great to see him still winning races and being competitive at 8-years old.”
We are so pleased to see Good Luck Charm still evidently thoroughly enjoying his racing, and we hope his owners decide to continue with this loveable horse for another season! His success certainly bodes well for his younger half brother who is set to join Gary Moore’s string as a 2-year old in 2018 – details to follow on him soon!
