26th August 2018, Jockey Gerald Mosse
What an Ownership dream this day at Baden-Baden was (and we are still pinching ourselves!) Raven’s Lady proved once again how incredibly game she is as she wins the Group 2 Goldene Peitsche under a fine Gerald Mosse ride! Congratulations to all involved with this filly!
After winning the Group 3 Summer Stakes at York last time out, the Goldene Peitsche had always been trainer Marco Botti’s target, and it was excellent race placement from him once again! Going into the race he was hopeful the filly would be “there or there abouts” and it was left up to Mosse to settle Raven’s Lady towards the rear of the field on the stand side rail. She didn’t look to be travelling as strongly as we’ve seen previously and was off the bridle on the turn for home, however once Mosse asked for more Raven’s Lady just kept on giving. She showed pure grit and determination, eyeballing Pretorian as they pulled clear of the field and got her nose in front on the line!
Gerald Mosse said “She was not travelling strongly from a long way out so full credit to the horse for picking up and trying incredibly hard to win the race, she has such a good attitude!”
7 of her 10 Owners made the journey across to Baden-Baden and were ecstatic as their filly was called the winner of the Group 2 contest! Our celebrations on the podium was truly an emotional moment, and even Gerald Mosse and Marco got involved as they were lifted into the air by cheers! It was a magical day and one that we will not be forgetting for a very long time!
Please see below a collection of photographs taken by Owners which tell the story of a truly fantastic weekend!
