1st October 2021, Jockey Jamie Moore
In late September 2021 trainer Gary Moore very kindly leased 5-time flat winner Jumping Cats to Heart of the South Racing’s Owners to enjoy some fun with over the winter and things could not have got off to a better start!
On 1st October Jumping Cats made his debut in our colours at Fontwell Park and whilst Gary and Jamie Moore were confident he would give a good account of himself, they were a little worried about the ground (which was on the softer side of good.) However, Jumping Cats looked up for it in the parade ring and adopting a more prominent position today, he travelled strongly under Jamie jumping the majority of his hurdles brilliantly. Jumping Cats hit the front approaching the final bend and there was no stopping him as he pulled away strongly, popping over the last two hurdles and winning by 11 lengths!
We were all thrilled to bits and Jamie said “I knew he was a nice horse capable of winning over hurdles but I didn’t know he was capable of that! He loved it today, jumped well and it’s great to see him winning in this sphere.”
A huge thank you must go to Gary for giving us the opportunity to enjoy some fun with Jumping Cats and it looks like there could be more to come from him. Well done to the team and to his groom Steve.
We look forward to the winter with Jumping Cats!

Thank you Gary , Jamie and all at Heart of the South for an excellent start to the winter season, sadly due to fuel shortages I was unable to attend.
Hopefully I will be able to attend the next victory !
