As always with HOTSR we put our horses welfare at the forefront and when they start showing signs and telling us they no longer enjoy the job, it is time to find them something new!
Unfortunately this has been the case in 2024 with LADY TWILIGHT who after only 6 races has been retired due to her body just not being able to withstand the pressures of racing.
We’ve known this filly since she was a foal so naturally have quite the attachment to her and we wanted to make sure a 5 star home was found! She was indeed popular for rehoming (thanks to her good looks!) but she is a horse who needs an experienced rider and does have the tendency to be a bit mare-ish. Therefore, when we met Mikayla and learnt of her experience with similar horses it seemed a no brainer for LADY TWILIGHT!
LADY TWILIGHT has now arrived at her new home in Somerset and will be given the winter off before she starts from scratch and sees what she enjoys.
We are so pleased for LADY TWILIGHT and cannot wait to hear about her future adventures. We wish her a very long and happy retirement.
