We have a number of owners who enjoy their ownership experience with Heart of the South Racing so much that they go onto become owners outright, buying their own horse! For example, we have worked with Ken Rhatigan, former owner of Moshahed, who won the Nova Stakes & District One Handicap in Dubai with Dark Emerald and Nick Peacock, who owns dual Royal Ascot winner Simenon (who has travelled all over the world) and has a string of horses with Willie Mullins, Gary Moore and William Knight.

We also manage a partnership for a group of friends who own dual winner and 97-rated Sir Robert Cheval and he has proved to be very successful and a real thrill to own.

Our most-recent venture in this sphere is managing the ownership experience for Mr Paul Hunt, who in 2014 approached us to purchase him a winner. The following year we went to the Craven Breeze Up Sales at Tattersalls and were delighted to purchase a gorgeous 2-year old colt by Cape Blanco (who was named Guns of Leros.) We manage the experience for Paul making sure all the registrations are handled and ensure he is kept fully up-to-date with all the news, progress and plans regarding his horse. Paul thoroughly enjoyed choosing his horse’s name (which is a reference to his late Grandfather) and racing colours and we were there every step of the way to ensure this was a smooth running and fun process.

Guns of Leros has show glimmers of promise as a 2-year old but without question he will progress with age as his breeding suggests. Like Paul, we cannot wait to see his future unfold!
