30th September 2013, Jockey George Baker
What a superb little racehorse Marmalady is, a step up in grade and a drop down to 5 furlongs proved no match for our filly!
Marmalady won her first two races in the space of just 8 days and consequently was risen 14lbs by the handicapper to a mark of 74. She had been in excellent form at home since and scored the hatrick with this impressive win at Bath.
Today the filly relished in the good ground and although she had the widest of draws to overcome, Marmalady made it all look very easy. She was absolutely cruising down the home straight and she showed an encouraging turn of foot when asked to quicken by jockey George Baker. The filly went onto win a tad cosily with her ears pricked when crossing the line.
Marmalady continues to improve with each run and in the fashion this filly won in at Bath, she certainly looks capable of running well in some respectable handicaps in the future.
