13th September 2014, Jockey Hector Crouch
After finishing a close 2nd in a 0-100 handicap race at Ascot a week before, it was brilliant to see Marmalady get her head in front for the fourth time – congratulations to all!
Marmalady truly benefitted from young Hector Crouch’s 7lbs claim and he gave the filly a great ride; breaking well from the stalls and having to make the running throughout the race. Marmalady travelled beautifully, setting a good, fast pace and had the rest of the field under heavy pressure with still 2 furlongs to go. Hector had saved plenty up his sleeve and Marmalady went on to win by a cosy 1 1/4 lengths!
Her trainer Gary Moore was delighted with the performance and feels Marmalady showed what a classy filly she can be. Now off a rating of 90 we look forward to the season ahead with our speedy filly!
