Marmalady wins easily at Goodwood, going from last to first in a 0-95 handicap over 5 furlongs. It was her first race for new trainer Robert Cowell and the mare couldn’t have made it look easier!
To be honest, the win was somewhat unexpected as although the mare has been working well at home, she is still carrying a bit of condition and holding onto her winter coat slightly. Obviously her willingness and genuine nature overcome this and she won pulling away from the field. It was a day we will not forget in a while! A winner at Goodwood is always so good!
Marmalady was well handicapped today, 3lb below her last win, but she certainly looks capable of plenty more. Our dream is to pick up some Black Type with her before she retires to stud…..and the dream lives on!
A big thank you to Goodwood Racecourse for all their hospitality. A decent amount of Owners & Trainers badges, plenty of Champagne post race, a beautiful winning memento and complimentary raceday photos which you can see below. A first class service.
