28th August 2013, Jockey Ryan Moore
We enjoyed a very exciting even at Kempton Park when we saw Marmalady win her first race very strongly under Ryan Moore.
The filly had raced at Kempton two weeks previous to this meeting and finished an encouraging second but showed her inexperience when she was asked to battle with another horse. However on this day no other horse even got close to Marmalady and with a drop down in trip to six furlongs, we saw the horse storm home to win by seven lengths.
It was a confident ride from the Champion jockey and Marmalady showed an encouraging burst of speed in the final two furlongs of her race. We imagine she will now go up considerably by the handicapper but Marmalady has certainly shown what a classy filly she can be and her trainer Gary Moore feels she is capable of winning again.
