About Canopus
Our latest fun prospect with Gary & Josh Moore is the lightly-raced 4-year old Canopus who looks set to be a entertaining candidate for owners! He has only had the 4 races on the flat with his previous trainer, which has seen him finish 2nd on two occasions, but this son of multiple Group 1 Sire Australia (also responsible for our 93-rated 4-time winner Alpha Crucis) is only expected to improve with age and be winning on the flat very soon!
Canopus has settled into Cisswood Stables very well and made a positive start when trying his hand a hurdling at Plumpton in January under a sympathetic and educating ride. It’s felt he needs to mature a little before trying 2miles again, so will return to the flat next time out and drop back in trip which will see him in the winners enclosure once again.

Pedigree
Canopus has a very attractive pedigree as he is by Group 1 winning stallion Australia who holds an excellent record with horses both on the flat and over jumps. Not only do we like the sire because he is responsible for our 4-time winner and super genuine Alpha Crucis, but he also produces types that seem to be improve with age which we love at HOTSR. He is responsible for Group 1 Derby winner Lambourn, Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes winner Broome, Group 1 St Leger winner Galileo Chrome on the flat and over jumps include 3-time winner La Note Verte, 4-time winner Rauzan, and winner & Grade 2 placed Lord Lamington to name a few! The Dam herself was unraced but she has produced 3 foals with Canopus being the eldest. She is a full sister to Black Type winning mare Kassia who has produced 5 winners from 6 foals!

Prices are inclusive of all fees and costs, there is nothing extra to pay during the agreement. Statements detailing the syndicates finances are sent every quarter and all VAT is reclaimed on behalf of the owners.
