About Enemy Lines
This exciting 2yo is our latest recruit with James Tate. He is a well bred colt who finished an encouraging 2nd despite being green on his racecourse debut. His next target is Windsor 15/6, a race he is expected to win!
Enemy Lines is by multiple Group winner Invincible Army (trained by James) who as a 2yo was never out of the frame (including a G3 win) before winning & competing at Group level at 3 and 4. The Dam was a dual 7f winner who produced multiple winners, clearly inherited from the Grand Dam who has produced 12 winners from 13 runners.
James acquired ownership of Enemy Lines from the previous owner through ‘Trainer’s Lien’ which is a legal right allowing a trainer to retain possession of a horse to recoup monies owed from unpaid training fees. It was therefore satisfying that once in full training, the horse’s regular rider became increasingly pleased with his progress on the gallops. So instead of selling Enemy Lines at the Breeze-Ups Sales as first planned, James opted to put him in a mixed online Sale and buy him back himself!
After impressing on the gallops it came as no surprise when Enemy Lines made an eye catching debut, finishing second behind a classy Amo Racing colt. Since then James has received many offers for the horse, but in true James style he offered HOTSR first refusal – and we jumped at the chance!
James hopes Enemy Lines can follow in his father’s footsteps and be a fun, consistent sort for HOTSR. It’s a huge bonus that he is fit and ready to race so Owners can enjoy racing during his 2yo season almost immediately.

Pedigree
Enemy Lines decends from a strong line of pedigree. The Sire Invincible Army was trained by James throughout his career and what a career he had! He raced 7 times as a 2yo, and was in the frame during every single one. He won on his second ever start before ending the season winning the totepool Sirenia Stakes (Group 3.) He won 1st time out over 6f as a 3yo in the Merriebelle Stable Pavilion Stakes (Group 3) at Ascot before winning the Unibet Cammidge Trophy Stakes (Listed Race), Duke Of York Clipper Logistics Stakes (Group 2) and Betfair Exchange Chipchase Stakes (Group 3) all over 6 furlongs. The Dam Relaxation Alexander was a dual winner over 7f and has produced some nice sorts in x3 winner Alwajd, 3-time winner Ronzinante and 7f winner (costing £300,000) Future King.
