We started 2020 off with a fabulous naming morning in Lambourn at Oliver Sherwood’s yard on Saturday 18th January as we gave our 4-year old gelding by Walk In The Park a racing name!
We got to see our boy warm up amongst the string before cantering upsides on the grass gallop. This was the first time he had done this since having a mini break over the Christmas period and despite being a little keen early on, he galloped nicely upsides his companion, striding out beautifully.
See his latest work video here!
After an enjoyable morning at Oliver’s 13 of the horse’s Owners made their way over to The Pheasant Inn Pub for a delicious breakfast. They then voted for a name suggestion other than their own and we had a 3-way tie – resulting in our trainer having to cast the deciding vote! With 4 votes against it, Walk In The Wild was the winning name! This has been approved by the BHA.
All being well Oliver feels that Walk In The Wild could be ready to make his racecourse debut in bumpers in late February/early March. He is likely to enjoy a racecourse gallop prior to this too.
We cannot thank the Oliver Sherwood team and The Pheasant Inn enough for a fabulous morning and we look forward to cheering Walk In The Wild home on the racecourse!
