Twiggy by Planteur - Paddock break has reached an end for Twiggy for now and she has moved to a yard in Kent to commence her pre-training. She has settled in well and we look forward to hearing how she progresses over the coming weeks before she enjoys another maturity break this summer.
King Of Ithaca by Ulysses – King Of Ithaca unfortunately missed the cut for his target at Southwell on 22/02 so he instead returned to the track on 28/02 and went onto secure his 5th win of his career! Under a brilliant ride from Rossa Ryan King Of Ithaca settled and travelled brilliantly and despite hitting the front maybe sooner than ideal, he grinded it out well! This horse is really loving his job at the moment & Southwell 21/03 is the next plan!
Alpha Crucis by Australia – Alpha Crucis has stepped up into fast work as he prepares for another crack at the 2025 Lincoln Handicap. We are really pleased with the way he’s training and pray for a wet latter half of March!
Spirit D’Aunou by Triple Threat – Spirit D’Aunou is hoping for a little luck to get into the Cheltenham Festival next week! He holds 3 entries with the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle race currently looking the most likely. Plan B for Spirit will be Kempton Park on 15/03.
Court In The Act by Court Cave – A step up in trip last time out at Kempton Park was something Court In The Act really benefitted from and it was just brilliant to see him settle well during his race. His jumping continues to improve with each race and he really plugged on to finish 4th. He could return to Kempton on 15/03 next or there is an option at Ascot on 30/03 too. Depending on how Court In The Act runs at either meeting – Sandown Park’s NH Finale could be for him.
Kotari by Nathaniel – 3-time flat winner Kotari has now stepped up into cantering and it is safe to say he is more than happy to be doing so! We will speak to the team after Cheltenham with regards to the a 2025 plan for him.
Pyrotechnic by Nathaniel – We tried a change of tactics for Pyrotechnic last time out over hurdles and he perhaps switched off too well as he wasn’t really involved in the race at all. It was therefore decided to switch codes and he lined up in a Novice Stakes at Southwell on 04/03. It seemed Pyrotechnic enjoyed the switch as he travelled well and finished his race off strongly behind some well bred flat horses. We will await his mark next week before deciding which flat race we target next.
Bridge by Golden Horn – Bridge continues to recuperate as planned following a setback. He is now out in the field with some other horses for company and is very much the boss of his herd! He will recommence light ridden work from June.
Storm Free by Iffraaj – Storm Free has really strengthened up for a winters break and is prepping well for his 3yo campaign ahead. Since March he has stepped up into fast work and the next few pieces of work will tell us which April targets he will be ready for! We cannot wait for this season with Storm Free.
Lover Desbois by Beaumec De Houelle – Lover Desbois has adapted to full training with Harry Derham brilliantly and he’s changing shape physically all the time! He’s enjoyed a couple of schooling sessions and shown he is a natural jumper, and also enjoyed a day away from home with some older horses for company. All of these experiences will definitely bring Lover Desbois forward and he’s likely to enjoy another in March before Harry decides whether we are to race this season or save the young horse for next NH season.
Laurier Des Obeaux by Bathyrhon – Laurier Des Obeaux is our other NH store horse who catches the eye on the gallops! He’s had the pace of his gallops increased slightly and so far is taking each step of his work well. He will not be rushed and Gary & Josh will be guided by the horse at all times.
Un-named by Sea The Moon – Our 2yo filly with James Tate is certainly starting to look the part! She has had the pace of her gallops increased slightly and is showing off her beautiful action combined with her determined attitude. Owners will soon be deciding on a racing name for this filly before she enjoys a Spring break. All being well the plan will be to race her this summer and we cannot wait! Join our visit on Saturday 22nd March – TWO shares remain for sale!
Le Galli Bier by Clovis Du Berlais – Le Galli Bier made his UK & HOTSR debut at Fontwell Park towards the end of February and what an encouraging debut it was! The young horse travelled sweetly, jumped his hurdles unbelievably well and really tried to finish 2nd. He was unlucky to come up against one on the day but showed plenty of potential and he will return to the track for two possible races on 17/03.
