Twiggy by Planteur - Twiggy continues to progress in the right direction and is pleasing everyone at the stud. She recently enjoyed a period of prep training to which she handled brilliantly and will now enjoy more time out in the paddocks to mature before she starts pre-training in March 2025. We will look to visit with her Owners before Christmas.
King Of Ithaca by Ulysses – King Of Ithaca has been in excellent form of late after winning at Southwell in early August and then following this up with a solid 3rd despite the race not being ran to suit him. Kempton 02/10 or Southwell 17/10 could potentially be his next options and he is likely to enjoy a winter campaign.
Alpha Crucis by Australia – After a string of decent runs this season we were over the moon to see it all come together for Alpha Crucis at Goodwood yesterday! The horse responded brilliantly to Ryan Moore and went onto win his 3rd career race a tad cosily. We are so pleased for everyone connected with this horse and hopefully there is more to come now the soft ground looks set to stay.
Spirit D’Aunou by Triple Threat – Spirit D’Aunou has now stepped up into fast work and is looking a million dollars on the gallops! It is still undecided whether he will start his 2024/25 campaign over hurdles or go straight chasing but either way we cannot wait to see this 5-time winner back in action.
Court In The Act by Court Cave – Court In The Act is another NH horse who is shaping up nicely at home as he prepares to return to racing action over hurdles at Wincanton on 17/10. There are likely to be some juicy targets for this exciting youngster if all goes to plan for him this winter.
Kotari by Nathaniel – Kotari returned from a mini break with a really encouraging race at Newbury on Saturday! Despite being a little overexcited to be back racing, Kotari soon settled into a rhythm and stayed on strongly over the 1m5f trip in soft ground to finish a solid 4th. He’s more than capable of winning a handicap like this and his next big target looks to be the November Handicap at Doncaster on 09/11 but he may well run before then too.
Lady Twilight by Twilight Son – Unfortunately a few niggly immaturity issues meant Lady Twilight was retired from racing last month. Whilst it is disappointing, it was definitely the right decision for this filly whose body just could not cope with the stresses of racing. The good news is she has found the most perfect of homes in Somerset where she will enjoy the winter off before trying a few new things and seeing what she enjoys most.
Pyrotechnic by Nathaniel – Pyrotechnic is gearing up to return to racing with a spin on the flat before recommencing his hurdling career. The target in mind is a Novice at Ascot on 04/10 and we hope to see him give a good account of himself.
Bridge by Golden Horn – Bridge has been flying up the Gary Moore gallops and gearing up for a return to action in October, therefore we were so disappointed to find this week that he looks to have occurred a setback. We are awaiting conformation from the vet and hope that he won’t be on the sidelines for too long.
Storm Free by Iffraaj – After making his racecourse debut at Newmarket in August a little bit like a rabbit caught in headlights, it was great to see the penny drop a little for Storm Free on his consequent run at Kempton Park last Friday. With Hector Crouch on board the youngster settled and travelled well for a long way before really trying in the closing stages to finish 2nd behind a Black Type contender. Storm Free will have one more run of the season before enjoying a break over the winter either at Goodwood 13/10, Yarmouth 15/10 or Chelmsford 26/10.
Lover Desbois by Beaumec De Houelle – Lover Desbois did brilliantly with his pre-training with Clairey and has since been rewarded with a little break to let his body and mind mature further. He seems to have benefited from it well and once the weather really turns he will return to Clairey’s for a period of pre-training before moving to Harry Derham’s to start work!
Laurier Des Obeaux by Bathyrhon – Our other 3yo youngster has also done exceptionally well with his pre-training and also enjoyed a little jump in the school. He is currently enjoying a break and will return to pre-training towards the end of the month. We look forward to visiting him with his Owners on Saturday 9th November which is likely to be the final visit before he moves to Gary & Josh Moore’s yard for full training!
