Twiggy by Planteur -Twiggy has recently been enjoying some basic pre-training at Overbury Stud where she has been spending some time on the walker, grooming sessions etc and has taken it all in her stride. She will start her pre-training in the New Year and we can’t wait to continue to watch her progression.
King Of Ithaca by Ulysses – King Of Ithaca bounced right back to winning ways when dropping back to 7f at Southwell on 02/08. Under a perfectly timed ride from Hayley Turner King Of Ithaca travelled strongly, hitting the front in the final furlong and going onto win his 3rd career race a tad cosily. He has been in flying form at home since and will return to Southwell on 03/09 next.
Alpha Crucis by Australia – Alpha Crucis has been declared for Goodwood this Saturday and we are praying that the predicted rain falls! He is in great order at home and fingers crossed we can see him racing on Saturday with his winning jockey Jason Watson on board. An early target for him is the Cambridgeshire on 28/09.
Spirit D’Aunou by Triple Threat – Spirit D’Aunou has had his work stepped up a gear as he prepares for the winter ahead. He looks magnificent and will step up into fast work late next month which will be when the team start to map out his campaign. His Owners will be coming to visit him on 21/09.
Court In The Act by Court Cave – Court In The Act looks magnificent following a summers holiday and is back into the flow of things with Harry Derham. He will have his work increased from September and we cannot wait to hear about his winter plans when we visit with Owners on 24/09.
Kotari by Nathaniel – Kotari has returned from a short mid-season break looking superb and is now back in fast work. Targets for him include Salisbury on 05/09 (where he’s a C&D winner) or Doncaster on 12/09.
Lady Twilight by Twilight Son – We were hoping to see Lady Twilight back on the turf on softer ground this week but unfortunately she’s a little stiff and this rightly so needs respecting. We are acting on the side of caution and awaiting the vet to give her the onceover before deciding the next plan of action.
Pyrotechnic by Nathaniel – Pyrotechnic is another NH horse progressing brilliantly with his training and he is likely to enjoy a spin on the flat this season before returning to hurdles. He is well handicapped for the season ahead and we cannot wait for Owners to visit him on 14/09.
Bridge by Golden Horn – Bridge is cantering away up the gallops and will also have his work increased within the coming weeks. He was such a fun horse to be involved with last winter and Bridge looks capable of more this coming season. Owners will be visiting him on 14/09.
Storm Free by Iffraaj – Storm Free made his racecourse debut at Newmarket on 02/08 and was a little bit like a rabbit caught in headlights. He broke slowly from the stalls and found himself travelling towards the rear, fairly detached from the field. He will have learnt lots for the experience and we were pleased to learn he’s taken a step forward with his stalls and homework. Fingers crossed he can put that to good practice when heading to either Salisbury 30/08, Ascot 06/09 or Thirsk 07/09.
Lover Desbois by Beaumec De Houelle – Lover Desbois has really done well with his pre-training and it was so nice to see him in August with his Owners and trainer Harry Derham. He looked fantastically well and was really showing off what a beautiful mover he is when cantering in the school. Harry was delighted with his progress and is really excited to have Lover Desbois in his yard this winter. For now, however the young horse will enjoy a 4 week maturity break before picking his pre-training up back up and then moving to Harry Derham’s yard in October.
Laurier Des Obeaux by Bathyrhon – Another youngster excelling with his pre-training is Laurier Des Obeaux. Not only is he now backed and being ridden away up the gallops but he’s also enjoyed a little schooling session to which he has taken to brilliantly! We are really excited for him to join Gary & Josh Moore this winter and he too will have a short break soon before picking things back up.
