At HOTSR our horses and their welfare is always at the forefront and the importance of happiness for our horses during their life after racing is huge to us.
We’ve been fortunate enough to have rehomed some of our ex-racehorses to fantastic homes and so enjoy following their progress! Our most recent retired racehorse was winner RECKON I’M HOT who was retired from racing in late 2023. He didn’t struggle to find a home and now lives in Gloucestershire with Olivia Lamphee as he’s being retrained as a polo pony.
Thanks to Olivia we were able to take some of his previous syndicate Owners to Cirencester Polo Club on Sunday 30th June to see RECKON I’M HOT (Bolt) in his new home. He looks phenomenal and clearly is extremely happy in his new job. He’s taken to polo like a duck to water, already played his first chucker and the team feel he’ll be a very good polo pony!
It was so lovely to be reunited with him (especially as we’ve owned him since he was a foal!) and to see him thriving was just wonderful!
We enjoyed the best day at Cirencester Polo Club with a delicious meal in the Brasserie before watching the 2024 Apsley Cup Final which was so exciting!
We cannot wait to return in 2025 to hopefully see Bolt taking part in his next polo match.
