29th September 2016 Jockey Jim Crowley
There were huge celebrations at Brighton as it all came together for Onehelluvatouch and she broke her maiden tag! She has been somewhat unlucky this season but everything fell right for her today and we are delighted.
Onehelluvatouch broke well from the stalls, was in a good position throughout and she traveled beautifully into the race under a great Jim Crowley ride. When coming down the hill the rest of the field came under pressure but Jim sat motionless on Onehelluvatouch. He switched her out at the 2 furlong pole, pressed the go button and the filly quickened nicely, pulling clear to win by a comfortable 5 lengths!
After the race Jim Crowley said “the first time blinkers clearly did the trick as she remained alert throughout. The faster ground suited her perfectly and she quickened away nicely on it. She’s won well today.”
We are thrilled to bits for the filly and her lovely owners, but also for trainer Philip Hide who has put a lot of hard work into Onehelluvatouch and has a real soft spot for her. He is keen to give the horse a final run this season before putting her away for a winters break, as she will mature into a lovely 4-year old.
