This strapping 9-year old is by hugely successful Group 1 winning Sire Voix Du Nord and is an impressive 3-time winner in training with Oliver Sherwood. He was purchased in France by top bloodstock agent Anthony Bromley at the age of 2, and apart from ticking all the boxes conformation wise, what really caught Anthony’s eye was the pedigree
From the very beginning we knew this horse would be a long term prospect and with that in mind he was not rushed as a youngster. However once he began full training (originally with Gary Moore) there was a lot to like about him, particular his raw willingness and ability to power up the gallops.
Cilaos Glace made an over-exuberant debut in 2018 and a few minor immaturity issues needed respecting shortly after. Despite Gary and his team doing an excellent job, his Owners felt a change in the horse’s training regime (where some combined swimming could take place) may be what he needs and he moved to Oliver Sherwood’s yard in the summer of that year.
After an encouraging start to his hurdling career, it wasn’t long before Cilaos Glace began his winning ways. Under great rides from Leighton Aspell on both occasions the horse gave back-to-back impressive victories in early 2019 before commencing his chasing career.
Cilaos Glace’s jumping hasn’t always been the most fluent and he has been a horse that requires a lot of patience but his 2021-22 National Hunt season couldn’t have got off to a better start! He finished 2nd on his seasonal return over fences at Fontwell Park before returning to the track a month later and achieving his first win over fences! The horse travelled beautifully under Tom Cannon and we couldn’t be more delighted for his connections. A fall at Fontwell and the ground going against him on his follow-up run were unfortunate events to follow so Cilaos Glace will now enjoy a summers break before returning to Oliver’s yard in July.
We are very hopeful that this talented horse can win again next season & provide some fun days at the track for Owners.

Voix Du Nord is now a hugely popular National Hunt sire and throughout his racing career he won 4 races. At the age of 2 he won the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud in France and followed this up by winning a Group 2 Prix Noailles by an impressive 3 lengths. At 3, he won the Group 1 Prix Lupin over 11 furlongs.
He has Sired many great National Hunt horses including the utterly sensational multiple Grade 1 winning Vroum Vroum Mag, 3-time Grade 1 winner Kemboy, 2019 Champion hurdle winner Espoir D’Allen, and 8-time Grade 1 winner Defi De Seuil.
Miss Glacee by Mister Mat
This Dam is a winner of 5 chase and hurdle races and was placed 8 times from only 19 starts. Out of her 3 offspring that have run, she has produced winning mare Bonbon Glace as well as the consistently placed Misterglacon. Voix Du Nord is by far the best stallion she has gone to.
Her Dam Miss Mood was also a very good horse, winning two races throughout her career and going onto produce 9 winners from 11 foals, including Group winners Ice Mood and My Risk as well as Listed winner (and a winner of 33 races) Mood War.
