We are pleased to introduce our latest addition with trainer Harry Derham – Lover Desbois! Purchased at the Goffs Spring Store Sale, this athletic unraced 4yo ticks many boxes both physically and pedigree wise.
A new National Hunt horse with Harry is something we are asked about regularly, which is no surprise thanks to the success and regard of Court In The Act. Harry took over the reins of training this horse in 2023/24 which saw Court In The Act win his a bumper followed by a Class 2 hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day – and ultimately chasing is his game!
Harry is a trainer we thoroughly enjoying working with as his passion and care for his horses is second to none as he leaves no stone unturned. Therefore we are delighted to have secured Lover Desbois who was purchased by Harry alongside his Bloodstock agent Ed Bailey who fell in love with the horse’s conformation, action and scope.
Lover Desbois also has a beautiful pedigree and is by up and coming Sire Beaumec De Houelle who was a multiple Grade 1/Listed winner over hurdles in France and is a young son of legendary sire Martaline. His first crop on the ground are currently 4yos where he’s had some exceptional winners both sides of the English Channel already. The Dam’s pedigree is also very strong – Rose Hever won 4 races aged 3 and is by top class Group 1 winner Doctor Dino and the second Dam has produced 3 talented winners from 5 runners so hopefully Lover Desbois can follow in their footsteps.
Lover Desbois has made fabulous progress since arriving with Harry and enjoyed a racecourse gallop this Spring which would have done him the world of good. He looks to be a very nice horse for the future but as he is still a little immature mentally Harry felt a decent summer on his back before getting his season underway would do the horse the world of good. We are sure he’ll be worth the wait!

Syndicate details
This is a 20-owner syndicate allowing owners maximum involvement with their horse and trainer but sharing the costs and most importantly the fun. Prices are inclusive of all fees and costs, there is nothing extra to pay during the agreement. Statements detailing the syndicates finances are sent every quarter and all VAT is reclaimed on behalf of owners.
There is one complimentary Owners & Trainers Badge or Syndicate Owner Badge every time the horse runs. Owners and their guests are welcome to visit their horse on the gallops during group stable visits or independently.
