5yo Kotari is a fun dual purpose prospect in training with Gary & Josh Moore who has strengthened in confidence since returning to the flat in April 2024 and winning 3 times on the bounce!
This athletic youngster was purchased in France by Gary and his Bloodstock agent who buys the majority of Gary’s successful NH string. He is a well put together individual who already has racecourse experience on his side after racing 6 times on the flat in France. He was placed 4 times over 8-10 furlongs and achieved a respectable rating of 75. What Gary liked most about this horse during his races however was his attitude as he really tries, shows guts and is very genuine!
His Sire Nathaniel needs no introduction and is a dual Group 1 winner over 12-14 furlongs. As a Stallion he is probably the most famous for siring multiple Group winning mare Enable, but also some very decent National Hunt offspring including Cheltenham Festival and multiple Grade 2 winning mare Concertista, Grade 1 winner Burning Victory and Grade 2 winner Navajo Pass.
The Dam Kotama (by highly fashionable Siyouni) is a dual French winner and Listed placed. Kotari is the first of her foals to race and shows plenty of stamina.
Kotari has needed a little time and his Owners have been quite patient before he made his UK debut on the flat in October 2023. He then turned his hooves to hurdling and ran some creditable races despite really not enjoying the horrendously tacky ground! Therefore, we decided to be patient and switch him back to the flat on better ground at Windsor on 15th April and everything worked out perfectly! Kotari travelled beautifully under jockey Rob Hornby and despite having to be switched in the closing stages he hit the line strongly to achieve his first win!
20 days later Kotari headed to Salisbury on 5th May and despite being a little on/off the bridle in the early part of the race, he took a bump in the closing stages which seemed to light him up and he went onto win for the 2nd time in a very impressive fashion! The fun wasn’t over yet however as just 6 days later Kotari lined up in a competitive Class 3 at Ascot and under a peach of a ride from Jason Watson he completed the hattrick and ran his a career best race! We couldn’t be prouder of Kotari nor happier for his Owners and it has been such a joy to watch this horse’s confidence grow. There could be some juicy targets on the horizon for Kotari now!

Nathaniel by Galileo
Nathaniel was a fantastic racehorse running 11 times and finishing in the first 3 all bar one start! He won the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot at the age of 3 before returning there in July to win the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes comfortably. At 4 years of age he won the Group 1 Coral Eclipse and was then placed 3 times in Group 1 company.
As a Stallion he is responsible for 15-time winning wonder mare Enable and Group 1 winner Lady Bowthorpe as well as many Cheltenham Festival winners as mentioned above. Nathaniel holds a 50% success strike rate with his flat offspring and a 47% strike rate with his National Hunt offspring which are very impressive statistics!
Kotama by Siyouni
She was Listed placed on her first ever career start in France before following this up with back-to-back victories over 6 furlongs and placed once on good ground. Being covered by a NH sire is expected to add the stamina to her natural speed.
She is by Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Siyouni who produced multiple Group 1 winner Laurens and recent Group 1 winning 2yo filly Tahiyra. His covering fee is a coll £150,000! Her Dam Kozaka was a winner and placed twice in France and she has produced dual 9f winner Kokaltash and 10f winner Kozideh.
