We are so excited to add a new addition to our string of horses with Gary & Josh Moore – Le Galli Bier – who is a half brother to Grade 1 winner Le Patron and looks to have a promising future!
Purchased from France last week, this handsome gelding is set to be a fun sort for NH enthusiasts. He already has some decent racecourse experience under his belt and from his 5 starts over jumps in France he’s finished in the frame on 4 occasions, his latest being a very close 2nd! He travels strongly throughout his races and jumps with a similar boldness to his older half sibling Le Patron. He is also still only 3-years old and plenty of improvement is expected as he matures.
Le Galli Bier is by Clovis Du Berlais who was a very consistent NH performer with a win over hurdles and over fences alongside placed finishes in Grade 2 races. As a sire this winter alone he’s already produced 5 NH winners and some of his more recognisable offspring include Cheltenham Cross Country winner Sweet David, Black Type filly Hesperia, and 3-time winner Bagheera Ginge. The Dam has produced numerous winners. Gary & Josh Moore trained Le Patron is arguably her best offspring with 5 National Hunt wins to his name, including a Grade 1 victory at Sandown Park on Tingle Creek day. She has also produced chase winners Saint Patis and Au Combat, chase winner & Black Type mare La Symphonie and 3-time NH winner Saint D’Auteuil.
Gary is thrilled to have Le Galli Bier in his yard and feels we’ve secured a real bargain! He says “I’m delighted to have purchased him for the price we did as he’s a well put together individual who already has a decent race record in France. I know the family well having Le Patron in the yard and feel he resembles his half brother in many ways. We will give him time to acclimatise and I’d like to see him put on some much needed condition, but I’m really looking forward to seeing how far he can progress once ready.”
Le Galli Bier has now arrived in the UK and is settling into his new surroundings. The horse would benefit from a little time and gaining a few pounds, but is expected to make his UK debut over hurdles early Spring. In time, he will go chasing.
