We have a number of owners who enjoy their ownership experience with Heart of the South Racing so much that they go onto become owners outright, buying their own horse! For example, we have worked with Ken Rhatigan, former owner of Moshahed, who won the Nova Stakes & District One Handicap in Dubai with Dark Emerald and Nick Peacock, who owned dual Royal Ascot winner Simenon (who has travelled all over the world) and had a string of horses with Willie Mullins, Gary Moore and William Knight. We also managed a partnership for a group of friends who owned 3-time 103-rated winner Sir Robert Cheval!
More recently HOTSR now manages the ownership experience for Mr Paul Hunt, who in 2014 approached us to purchase him a winner. The following year we went to the Craven Breeze Up Sales at Tattersalls and were delighted to purchase a gorgeous 2-year old colt by Cape Blanco (who was named Guns of Leros.) We manage the experience for Paul making sure all the registrations are handled and ensure he is kept fully up-to-date with all the news, progress and plans regarding his horse. Paul thoroughly enjoyed choosing his horse’s name (which is a reference to his late Grandfather) and racing colours and we were there every step of the way to ensure this was a smooth running and fun process. Paul now has 6 horses whom we manage for him with Gary Moore & Marco Botti.
We also manage horses for Mr Keith Graves who owns Grade 2 winner Salver and Justice Roll. He too thoroughly enjoyed choosing his colours with his family and all of the administration was quickly processed by HOTSR as we only had a week or so to sort before he had purchased his horse and it was ready to run!
Both Paul & Keith were originally involved in syndicates with Heart of the South Racing before deciding to take the plunge into sole Ownership with HOTSR’s management.
We offer a service where we cover all of the administration, accounts and communications so Paul & Keith can just enjoy the thrill of going racing!
