30th June 2017, Jockey Ryan Moore
Wow – what an evening at Newmarket Racecourse! Raven’s Lady impressively storms home to achieve her second victory under a phenomenal Ryan Moore ride, and there was a full house of owners to cheer her home!
It was the first time Raven’s Lady had tried the 6 furlong trip, but she relished every second of the faster pace. She settled beautifully into a nice rhythm, and Ryan had her in an excellent position tracking the leaders. At the furlong marker when Ryan pulled the filly towards the stand side rail and said go, Raven’s Lady certainly did not disappoint and she picked up strongly under a hands and heels ride.
Ryan’s comments post race were 6 furlongs is certainly her trip, but she didn’t enjoy the softer ground and would be better on a quicker surface. This is surprising seeing as she won by a cosy 2 3/4 lengths, but it just goes to show how much class this filly has!
A huge congratulations and thank you must go to Marco Botti and his team for all of their hard work with this filly behind the scenes. It is absolutely fantastic for Raven’s Lady too who tries her hardest in every race and she thoroughly deserves to be called the winner!
We will await and see how much of a hike we receive in the weights before formulating the next plan. We are already looking forward to her next start and the future looks bright for the Raven’s Lady partnership!
