140 Owners join us at Sandown Park!

On 11th November 2018 we held our annual Owner Event, this time at the beautiful Sandown Park in their stunning Solario Suite which overlooked the track and final jumps. 140 of our Owners joined us for the day and we are thrilled that so many of you had such a lovely time – thank you for your kind emails (see below!)

The day began with us paying our respects to the fallen heroes and watching the London Parade before our speech got underway. We had numerous winning mementos to distribute courtesy of our horses, and the winning owners can be seen below. Special thanks was given to Marco Botti and his team after 2018 saw HOTSR enjoy our first Group wins with phenomenal Raven’s Lady. Marco assistant trainer and secretary were presented with the fabulous Group 2 winning prize – the Golden Whip – which now takes pride of place on Marco’s mantelpiece!

Racecourse presenter Anthony Kemp then read through Sandown’s thrilling racing card to help owners pick some winners before we conducted our popular Champion Tipster Competition which was won by the lovely Jackie Thwaites (an owner of Waikiki Waves) and we had 3 owners finishing in 2nd place! The 2-course carvery lunch was superb and extremely well managed (as was the whole event) and we cannot thank Sandown Park and their hospitality team enough for such a smooth running day.

We were also joined by trainers Gary Moore and David Menuisier as we promoted their new horses for 2019. Our yearlings by Poet’s Voice and Nathaniel have proved to be very popular thus far, and it comes as no surprise that our un-raced NH horse also caught the eye of many at Sandown!

As well as the glorious weather, the cherry on top of such a successful day had to be the brilliant racing card. Our favourite had to be the Veterans Chase which saw an old favourite Loose Chips (who previously gave such a battle back in 2015 when beaten by our now retired Fruity O’Rooney) secure his 10th victory – congratulations to his connections!

We would like to say a huge thank you to those of you who joined us for an excellent day, we hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did! We are looking forward to our 2019 owner events already!
