What a day we had at Sandown Park and congratulations to all connections of STORM FREE as he makes it back-to-back victories!
With STORMY in top condition and the rain finally falling trainer James Tate was fairly confident heading into the race that providing Stormy had a decent position he would run a really solid race. He instructed jockey Lewis Edmunds to break well and sit behind the leaders and Lewis followed instructions to a T! STORMY travelled strongly in a lovely position on the inside rail before coming off the bridle 1f from home. He did look a little short of room on the inside but Lewis was incredibly cool, did not panic, pulled Stormy around the leader and the horse stayed on brilliantly to win well!
STORMY seems to be in the form of his life at the moment and he was so cool, calm and collected after the race – looking like it was easy work and he could go again!
He has come out of his race really well and was raised 4lbs to a handicap mark of 93 to compete off this autumn. Hopefully he can target some fun targets on softer ground the remainder of the season – we cannot wait!
