6yo Trafalgar Boy is a horse that we adore at Heart of the South Racing. Not only does he have an exuberant attitude towards life but he is a very kind individual with a fantastic nature!
Trafalgar Boy commenced his racing career in bumpers in 2019 and his claim to fame was finishing 4th behind the almighty Shishkin at Kempton Park. He followed this up with a 3rd place finish at Fontwell Park and we had high hopes for his future.
However Trafalgar Boy unfortunately suffered a tendon injury which saw him on the sidelines for quite some time and his lovely, loyal Owners chose to stand by him. The horse was given the time off he needed before gently returning to full training this year and making his hurdling debut at Warwick in May. The horse travelled and jumped beautifully to finish 2nd and we were so pleased for the horse and his connections.
We were hoping to see him race again before the ground turned but unfortunately Trafalgar Boy’s injury reared its ugly head again and it was decided he should be retired from racing.
The good news however is Trafalgar Boy has found a home for life with a young lady in Devon. He has settled in brilliantly and looks incredibly happy out in the paddocks with his friends. The horse will enjoy some time off before being retrained as a riding horse and we may even see him at some ROR shows.
We are so thrilled for this horse and wish him all the happiness in the world in his new home!
