Heart of the South Racing has carefully selected our racehorse trainers not only for their training ability but also for the first-class care they give our horses, and for the access they give our owners to see their horses.
It is very important that our owners can visit their horses whenever they wish and not have to wait for the odd organised trip. We strive to make all partnership owners feel as if they owned the horse outright and that can only come from a genuine ‘open access’ policy. We hope to see you at the stables soon!
If Gary was a racehorse he would be worth £millions. “Sire” of Champion jockey Ryan Moore, Group 1 winning National Hunt jockey’s Jamie and Josh Moore and winning jockey and accomplished horsewoman Hayley Moore. A few years ago, Gary moved from his limited yard adjacent to Brighton Racecourse to a new 180 acre training establishment at Cisswood in Sussex, which is just a few miles from Gatwick.
Heart of the South have an office at Gary’s yard so there is always a nice cup of tea waiting when you visit. Gary is a dual purpose trainer and trains the majority of our National Hunt horses and a few of our flat horses too – both with plenty of success.Gary’s full profile
Marco began training at Newmarket in 2006 and has quickly become one of the most exciting young trainers in the country. The son of a champion Italian trainer, Marco has also worked for Luca Cumani, Godolphin and Ed Dunlop. He started with just fifteen horses and trained a Group 3 winner in his first season (Sesmen). Since then he has gone onwards and upwards, training numerous Group winners all over the world.
In 2013, Marco moved to his state of the art new Prestige Place Stables. Marco currently trains two of our horses; 3yo Latin Knight and a 2yo for 2019 named Lady De Vega.Marco’s full profile
David is the latest flat trainer to join our string of books. He has been training for just 4 years, and has already been fortunate enough to have enjoyed multiple successes, including at Group level (courtesy of 119-rated Thundering Blue.)
David is based at Coombelands Racing Stables in Pulborough where he has around 30 horses in training. He trains 6-time winner Dragons Voice for Heart of the South and a 2yo Poetic Lilly.David’s full profile
Oliver Sherwood is a successful National Hunt trainer based in Lambourn. Arguably his biggest triumph was winning the 2015 Crabbies Grand National with Many Clouds, but he has also won the Hennessy Gold Cup, The Arkle, The Scottish Champion Hurdle and the Tingle Creek to name a few!
The Lambourn gallops and an on-site equine swimming pool are just a handful of facilities his Rhonehurst Stables have to offer. Oliver will train impressive dual winner Cilaos Glace this season and our new 3yo by Walk In The Park.Oliver’s full profile
