At just 28 years of age Harry has already experienced a heap of experience and gathered plenty of knowledge in the world of racing!
Assistant Trainer to Paul Nicholls
After starting his career as a jockey Harry enjoyed 3 years in the saddle riding 50 winners including Cheltenham Festival winner Salubrious before he retired from the saddle and joined the Nicholls team. He began as a Pupil Assistant before becoming Paul’s Assistant Trainer which was a role he held for 6 years.
Whilst in that role Harry worked closely alongside Paul and put in relentless levels of work to help produce some fantastic results, winning the trainers championship on three occasions and finishing runner up the other three.
Harry took out his trainers licence in 2022 and sent out his first runner on Boxing Day at Huntingdon. Seelotmorebusiness really did get things off to a flying start by providing Harry with his first winner as a trainer and 7 more winners followed from only his first 30 runners.
He trains out of the beautiful Boxford Stables but soon will be moving to a purpose built yard just outside of Lambourn where 4yo Court In The Act will be trained. The yard has its own gallops (as well as the Jockey Club Lambourn Gallops), turnout space and more and looks to be a quiet location for the horses. We are very much looking forward to working with Harry.
Grand National winning trainer Oliver Sherwood is someone Heart of the South Racing have worked with successfully over the past 6 years. He’s provided us with many winners, memories and great friendships so you can imagine how sad we were to learn he was retiring in July 2023.
However, we are elated at the news that Oliver will be Assistant Trainer to Harry for the foreseeable and we are pleased that he will oversee Court In The Act’s trainer (as he knows him very well.)
With Harry’s hunger for success and Oliver’s years of experience we feel this duo could be dynamite and we cannot wait to get the season started!
