30th December 2014, Jockey George Baker
Congratulations to all owners as Zambeasy wins his third career race, and what a superb way to end 2014!
It was a step up in trip to 1 mile 4 furlongs and we had the widest draw to overcome but the brilliant partnership of Zambeasy & George Baker made winning look very easy. After breaking well from the stalls and getting to the front, Zambeasy settled really well and his lengthy stride allowed him to kick away in the home straight to win by a cosy 2¼ lengths.
After the race our jockey was very pleased with the horse and said “he isn’t the easiest of horses to ride but once out in front he settles beautifully and really could gallop all day long. We were never in any real danger, he’s seen the trip out really well and I’m very pleased with him.” Trainer Philip Hide was also delighted with the performance and feels confident that Zambeasy will stay 2 miles over hurdles so there’s plenty to look forward to with this horse.
