Our 2026 overseas Owner Event took place from 2nd – 6th July and what an incredible trip it was! Organised brilliantly by the fantastic team at Venatour, we took a group of Owners via ferry to the stunning Deauville for 5 days full of enjoyment.
The first day began with an early start on the ferry over to Caen. We arrived to beautiful sunny weather in France before we checked into our hotel and headed out for a delicious group dinner!
On Friday we headed to Haras de Beaumont stud for a tour. We were so lucky to meet their four stallions – INTELLO, PUCHKINE, SEALIWAY and legendary Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner ACE IMPACT before we headed to Clairefontaine racecourse for a day full of racing. It is such a unique racecourse that allows you to see the horse’s in the racecourse stables on arrival to the track with lots of other little quirks. All HOTSR Owners backed ALPHA VASE (in homage to our ALPHA CRUCIS and the fact the jockey silks were green!) and you can imagine the cheers from us all when he won! Friday was an evening at your own leisure.
Saturday we headed for a stroll along the promenade before setting off to Deauville Racecourse for another day of racing action. It is such a beautiful course and we loved cheering home Gerald Mosse’s GA GA GIRL! That evening all HOTSR Owners enjoyed a meal together before we found a bar in the square to support France in the World Cup.
Sunday was a free day and Eloise and Sam made the most of this! We headed to the market in the morning before spending the afternoon relaxing on Deauville beach and burning off the endless delicious French food we had consumed in the hotel swimming pool!
Monday it was time to return back to the UK but before we boarded the ferry home plenty of Owners were up early doors to head down onto the beach to see the trotters, showjumpers and racehorses all training on the beach. It was our idea of heaven and we spent most of our morning down here before heading as a group to Pierre Huet for Cider and Calvados tasting. It was brilliant to see and learn about how the production operates and to sample some of the products they sell with canapes.
We are incredibly thankful to Venatour and their team for a hugely enjoyable trip! It really was 5 days full of such fond memories and great to see so many new friendships formed amongst the group.
We are planning another overseas trip with Venatour in 2028 to Chantilly – register your interest today!
